Graham Alexander Pertahankan Strategi Bradford City Jelang Hadapi Bolton

Manajer Bradford City Graham Alexander menegaskan tidak akan mengubah gaya permainan agresif timnya saat menjamu Bolton Wanderers pada leg kedua semifinal play-off League One di Valley Parade, Kamis malam, 14 Mei 2026.

Alexander menargetkan kemenangan penuh demi mengamankan tiket ke Wembley setelah klub ini berhasil promosi dari League Two pada musim lalu. Sosok yang menggantikan Mark Hughes sejak November 2023 tersebut ingin fokus pada kekuatan internal timnya sendiri.

"There's clarity - we have to win the game," ujar Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City kepada BBC Radio Leeds.

Pelatih yang pernah menangani Scunthorpe dan Motherwell ini menjelaskan bahwa pendekatan untuk memenangkan setiap laga kandang sudah menjadi identitas klub selama dua tahun terakhir. Ia menekankan tidak ada rencana rahasia untuk mengubah taktik tersebut.

"The way we have approached all of our home games for the past two years is 'we have to win'. We've never gone into a game targeting any less than that," kata Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.

Alexander meyakini bahwa cetak biru permainan tim sudah terbentuk dari performa kandang sepanjang musim ini. Ia lebih memilih untuk menitikberatkan kesiapan skuadnya daripada terlalu mencemaskan kekuatan lawan.

"We have to look at what we've done over the past two seasons and just this season at home and the blueprint is there for us," tutur Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.

Menurut laporan BBC, Bradford City berpotensi kembali diperkuat gelandang Bobby Pointon yang sempat absen dalam lima laga terakhir akibat cedera pergelangan kaki. Selain itu, Tyreik Wright juga berpeluang tampil sebagai starter setelah sebelumnya turun sebagai pemain pengganti pada leg pertama.

"We're not going to change. I don't think I'm giving any secrets out there, we're not just going to come up with some masterplan. I don't want it to be about our opponents, I want it to be about us," tegas Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.

Terkait atmosfer pertandingan, Alexander mengaku tidak perlu memberikan seruan khusus kepada para pendukung karena loyalitas mereka sudah teruji. Ia merujuk pada momen-momen krusial musim lalu dan musim ini saat dukungan suporter membantu pemain bangkit dari situasi sulit.

"What the fans have bought into and played their part, we've seen it so many times over the past two seasons," ucap Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.

Kehadiran ribuan suporter di Valley Parade diharapkan menjadi faktor pembeda bagi tuan rumah. Alexander menilai keyakinan pendukung terhadap tim saat ini berada pada titik yang sangat positif.

"The last game of last season where we were throwing everything at it and it was just constant encouragement, or this season when we were down to 10 men and we went on to win it - it's those moments, and there will be moments and lulls, when the backing of supporters can keep players alive," jelas Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.

Alexander menambahkan bahwa dukungan tersebut mengalir secara alami tanpa perlu diminta secara berlebihan oleh pihak manajemen. Ia optimis para pemain akan merasakan energi dari tribun saat laga penentuan menuju kasta kedua kompetisi Inggris tersebut dimulai.

"When we first came here we saw how it could be perceived to be a negative but it's nothing but a positive now. The faith the supporters have shown in the team has been unwavering," lanjut Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.

Laga ini menjadi krusial mengingat Bolton memiliki catatan kurang impresif dalam tiga kampanye play-off terakhir. Dilansir dari Width of a Post, area North Parade diperkirakan akan dipadati pendukung sejak sore hari menjelang kick-off di bawah lampu sorot stadion.

"I see a lot of times when it comes down to this point the manager pleads with the supporters to do this and that but I don't think I have to - I think they know. There's no big request from me. I know they are going to be there for the players and we're looking forward to it," pungkas Graham Alexander, Manajer Bradford City.
