Lima Pertandingan Divisi Utama Liga Irlandia Bergulir Malam Ini

Lima pertandingan sengit dalam lanjutan kompetisi Divisi Utama Liga Irlandia akan berlangsung pada Jumat malam, 3 Juli 2026, yang mempertemukan klub-klub papan atas hingga tim yang sedang berjuang menghindari zona degradasi.

Dilansir dari irishmirror.ie, rangkaian pertandingan ini menyajikan duel penting termasuk pemimpin klasemen Shamrock Rovers yang bertandang ke markas Sligo Rovers, serta laga emosional Derry City menjamu Waterford di Stadion Ryan McBride Brandywell.

Sebelum pertandingan, manajer Derry City, Tiernan Lynch, menyampaikan dukungannya kepada bek tengah Jamie Stott dan pasangannya, Leah, yang baru saja kehilangan putri mereka yang baru lahir, Lucia.

"I think Jamie has probably seen a whole different side to Derry City and the football club and the players and everybody connected to it." kata Tiernan Lynch, Manajer Derry City.

Stott diketahui belum bermain lagi untuk tim Candystripes sejak akhir Mei akibat tragedi keluarga tersebut.

"It’s obviously not an easy time for him and his partner. I think our job now is just to get around him and support him and let him know that we’re here for him." ujar Tiernan Lynch, Manajer Derry City.

Lynch menambahkan bahwa sang pemain menunjukkan komitmen besar dengan kembali berlatih minggu ini.

"Great credit to him, he came back this week and started training and hopefully we’ll get him back on the pitch sooner rather than later." tutur Tiernan Lynch, Manajer Derry City.

Di laga lain, Manajer St Patrick's Athletic, Stephen Kenny, menyoroti pelanggaran keras yang sering diterima penyerangnya, Kian Leavy, menjelang pertandingan melawan Galway United.

"Kian is massively important for us, a breath of fresh air and a joy to watch this season. But he is a target, everyone wants to take him out. There should be a few red cards for that, rather than yellows." ucap Stephen Kenny, Manajer St Patrick's Athletic.

Kenny juga menegaskan pentingnya memanfaatkan laga simpanan yang dimiliki timnya untuk mengamankan posisi klasemen.

"We know that if we can win our games in hand over the next couple of weeks, we are in a brilliant position. So the onus is on us to try and do that. We need everyone getting behind the team to do that. That’s important." tambah Stephen Kenny, Manajer St Patrick's Athletic.

Sementara itu, Sligo Rovers yang akan menjamu pemuncak klasemen tetap optimistis meski kehilangan beberapa pilar karena cedera.

"You would imagine they (Shamrock Rovers) will have a few games in Europe coming up given that they should have enough to beat Floriana." cetus John Russell, Manajer Sligo Rovers.

Russell menyadari kekuatan mendalam dari tim juara bertahan meski melakukan rotasi pemain.

"But no matter the team they'll put out, they'll be looking to maintain their points difference at the top. Even if they were to rest a few, they're still formidable." kata John Russell, Manajer Sligo Rovers.

Namun, performa impresif anak asuhnya di laga sebelumnya menjadi modal berharga bagi Sligo Rovers.

"But I've seen enough from us particularly in stages against Pat's and Shels that proves we have it in us to get something Friday night." ujar John Russell, Manajer Sligo Rovers.

Di tempat berbeda, Shelbourne yang kini tampil tanpa manajer akan menghadapi Dundalk yang berada di performa terbaiknya.

"Obviously the last couple of months we've been on a good run but getting beaten last week by Waterford after taking the lead is something we'll look to respond and react positively to." jelas Ciaran Kilduff, Manajer Dundalk.

Kilduff juga mewaspadai kekuatan Shelbourne yang sedang mempersiapkan diri menghadapi kompetisi Eropa.

"Shelbourne themselves have obviously had a change of manager, and you know, a really top team getting ready to go into European football. We know how tough this task is going to be, but we'll prepare and do everything we can to try and win this game." pungkas Ciaran Kilduff, Manajer Dundalk.

Pertandingan pamungkas malam ini mempertemukan Drogheda United melawan Bohemians yang kini bertengger di peringkat kedua klasemen sementara.

"The challenge for us now is to go and build on that (the wins against Shebourne and St Patrick’s Athletic)." kata Alan Reynolds, Manajer Bohemians.

Reynolds menginginkan konsistensi bermain dari skuadnya di tengah persaingan ketat kompetisi liga.

"We want consistency but we know how hard we have to work to get it." ujar Alan Reynolds, Manajer Bohemians.

Ia menambahkan bahwa masalah konsistensi sering menjadi kendala bagi tim-tim bagus dalam beberapa musim terakhir.

"There is a lot of quality in this league, but consistency has been an issue for a lot of good teams in the past couple of seasons. We just need to focus on ourselves - we ask questions of ourselves and the players all the time, and we are rightly self-critical." ucap Alan Reynolds, Manajer Bohemians.

Meskipun demikian, Reynolds mengapresiasi posisi timnya saat ini yang menjadi landasan kuat untuk terus berkembang.

"But we are also second in the table of a really competitive league and have given ourselves a good platform to build on." tutur Alan Reynolds, Manajer Bohemians.
