Spanyol Unggul Tipis Atas Austria pada Babak Pertama Piala Dunia 2026

Tim nasional Spanyol memimpin sementara dengan skor 1-0 atas Austria pada babak pertama pertandingan eliminasi 32 besar Piala Dunia 2026 di SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, Amerika Serikat, pada Jumat (3/7/2026) dini hari WIB.

Keunggulan skuad asuhan Luis de la Fuente tersebut dipastikan melalui gol sepakan kaki kiri Mikel Oyarzabal pada menit ke-36 setelah memanfaatkan umpan silang mendatar dari bek Marc Cucurella.

Sebelum gol pembuka tersebut terjadi, Marc Cucurella sempat menggetarkan jala gawang Austria pada menit ke-29 lewat skema sepak pojok, namun wasit Glenn Nyberg langsung menganulir gol tersebut karena menilai bek Pau Cubarsi melakukan pelanggaran terhadap kiper Alexander Schlager.

Keputusan pembatalan gol tersebut memicu kritik dari pengamat sepak bola BBC Danny Murphy yang menilai kontak fisik di dalam kotak penalti tersebut sangat minim dan tidak seharusnya dianggap sebagai pelanggaran berat.

"I can’t see anything on the goalkeeper," ujar Danny Murphy, komentator BBC. "There is a man in front of him, but he's not fouling him."

Mantan penjaga gawang Manchester City Joe Hart juga menyatakan ketidaksetujuannya terhadap keputusan wasit karena menilai benturan yang terjadi merupakan duel perebutan bola yang wajar di area kotak penalti.

"Premier League goalkeepers are going to be throwing their food and drink at the TV watching this," kata Joe Hart, mantan kiper Manchester City. "For this to be disallowed... Schlager, I watched his reaction, I don’t think it’s a foul.

It’s really not. It’s really soft. It’s just people challenging for the ball."

Joe Hart menambahkan bahwa keputusan meniup peluit sebelum bola masuk menguntungkan posisi penjaga gawang Austria yang gagal mengantisipasi tekanan fisik dari pemain lawan.

"Sometimes I can understand it if you get your hands knocked away or taken away from you. That's just an innocent challenge, and he gets bullied a little bit. Of course, he does," tutur Joe Hart.

"It's a good finish from Cucurella, but honestly, when you see the referee with a whistle in his mouth, not facing the goal, you're (Schlager) absolutely delighted there. He's got away with one. No getting away from it."

Pakar perwasitan BBC Darren Cann turut mengonfirmasi pandangan serupa dengan menyatakan bahwa tantangan udara tersebut sah, meskipun keputusan tersebut konsisten dengan garis kepemimpinan wasit di turnamen ini.

"I don’t see a foul," cetus Darren Cann, pakar perwasitan BBC. "It's very similar to the Tah header in the Germany game that also got disallowed wrongly, in my opinion."

Darren Cann menilai gol Cucurella sah berdasarkan standar liga domestik, namun ia memahami dasar keputusan konsistensi yang diambil oleh pengadil lapangan di Piala Dunia.

"This is a fair challenge for the ball. I would have given the goal, but I understand why it's been disallowed, bearing in mind the Germany game that I've just referred to," jelas Darren Cann. "So it's consistent with the refereeing earlier in the tournament, but certainly in the Premier League, those would be given."

Menanggapi analisis tersebut, Danny Murphy memuji ketenangan para pemain Spanyol yang tidak terpengaruh oleh keputusan kontroversial wasit dan terus melancarkan tekanan hingga berbuah gol.

"I think it’s very, very harsh, and I’m really glad that Darren agreed with me. More evidence that I could work in VAR!" tambah Danny Murphy. "Unfortunately when you’re playing the game, those little decisions, you can only look back later and feel hard done by.

You haven’t got time to dwell on it. You’ve just got to get on, keep making the chances, keep getting in there."

Sifat sabar pemain Spanyol menjadi kunci utama untuk tetap mendominasi jalannya laga paruh pertama tanpa kehilangan fokus menyerang.

"We know the Spanish are patient anyway. They won’t get flustered. They’ll just keep doing what they’re doing," pungkas Danny Murphy.

Berdasarkan data statistik babak pertama yang dilansir AS, La Roja mendominasi penuh permainan dengan melepaskan 11 tembakan, enam di antaranya menemui sasaran, serta menguasai 64 persen penguasaan bola.
