Jannik Sinner Menantang Novak Djokovic pada Semifinal Wimbledon 2026

Petenis nomor satu dunia Jannik Sinner dijadwalkan bertanding melawan juara bertahan Novak Djokovic dalam babak semifinal turnamen Wimbledon pada Jumat, 10 Juli 2026, demi mengamankan tempat menuju babak final hari Minggu.

Sinner melaju ke semifinal setelah mengalahkan Jan-Lennard Struff dalam tiga set langsung, sementara Djokovic harus berjuang selama lebih dari 5 jam 15 menit untuk menumbangkan Felix Auger-Aliassime di perempat final. Pertemuan ini mengulang semifinal tahun lalu di mana Sinner menang tiga set langsung atas Djokovic yang kala itu mengalami cedera.

Saat ini Sinner tampil tanpa cedera dan hanya kehilangan satu set sejak pertandingan pembuka melawan Miomir Kecmanovic, sedangkan Djokovic sempat membutuhkan perawatan medis pada betis kirinya. Meskipun Djokovic berusia 15 tahun lebih tua dan memiliki waktu tanding lebih lama, petenis Serbia tersebut termotivasi mengejar gelar Grand Slam tunggal ke-25 untuk memecahkan rekor Margaret Court.

Djokovic tercatat memenangi pertemuan terakhir mereka di semifinal Australia Terbuka pada Januari lalu, di mana ia berhasil mengamankan 16 dari 18 break point. Sinner, yang memimpin rekor pertemuan 6-5 atas Djokovic, menunjukkan performa servis yang impresif dengan mencetak 97 ace dan hanya melakukan 16 double faults sepanjang turnamen.

"I still try to prove to myself and others that I'm able to compete with the best players in the world and beat them in the biggest stage," ujar Novak Djokovic, petenis tunggal putra Serbia.

Djokovic menegaskan bahwa dirinya telah membuktikan kemampuan tersebut di Australia serta London, dan berharap bisa mengulangnya dalam beberapa pertandingan ke depan.

"That's what I've done in Australia, it's what I've done here," kata Novak Djokovic.

Ambisi tersebut tetap terjaga meski mantan petenis nomor satu Inggris, Tim Henman, menilai faktor usia 39 tahun akan sangat memengaruhi pengelolaan energi dalam pertandingan format lima set.

"Hopefully I can do it for a few more matches in London," ucap Novak Djokovic.

Di sisi lain, mantan petenis nomor satu Inggris Tim Henman memberikan pandangannya mengenai kondisi fisik para pemain di turnamen ini melalui siaran BBC TV.

"I do think grass is the least physically demanding surface," kata Tim Henman, mantan petenis nomor satu Inggris.

Henman menambahkan bahwa pertandingan panjang lima set pasti akan menguras tenaga siapa pun, sehingga kemampuan mengukur tingkat energi menjadi sangat krusial bagi pemain berusia 39 tahun.

"Those matches over the best-of-five sets are inevitably going to take it out of anyone but, when you're 39, being able to gauge those energy levels is really important," ujar Tim Henman.

Menjelang laga ini, Sinner juga didukung oleh tim pelatihnya, Darren Cahill dan Simone Vagnozzi, yang bergabung sejak tahun 2022 untuk membenahi teknik servis serta taktik bermainnya.

"I feel like every match is different [against Novak]," kata Jannik Sinner, petenis nomor satu dunia.

Sinner merasa setiap pertandingan melawan Djokovic selalu memiliki ceritanya sendiri, bahkan saat dirinya sedang dalam tren kemenangan atas sang rival.

"Even when I had this small streak with him, I felt like every match has really its own story," ucap Jannik Sinner.

Ia juga menambahkan bahwa bermain di permukaan lapangan rumput seperti Wimbledon akan menjadi sangat sulit jika seorang pemain tidak memiliki hari yang baik dalam melakukan servis.

"Especially when you play on a surface like this, if you have a bad serving day or not feeling the ball very well, it's going to be very, very tough," kata Jannik Sinner.

Sinner mengungkapkan bahwa tim pelatihnya yang menentukan pakaian di kotak pemain, termasuk aturan mengenai warna topi.

"You need to ask my team. Not me," ujar Jannik Sinner.

Ia menjelaskan bahwa dirinya tidak memegang kendali atas pilihan tersebut, kecuali untuk satu warna spesifik yang dihindarinya.

"No I’m not in charge. The only color I don’t like is a white hat for a certain reason. We don’t have a good win percentage when they have a white cap. But the rest they choose," kata Jannik Sinner.

Pelatih Sinner, Darren Cahill, sempat menyatakan bahwa peningkatkan kualitas servis merupakan fokus utama saat awal menangani petenis Italia tersebut.

"One thing I did say is, ’The serve needs to improve. You’re six foot four and you’re a strong lad’," ujar Darren Cahill, pelatih tenis Jannik Sinner.

Cahill menekankan pentingnya menambah kecepatan dan arah servis pertama agar Sinner bisa mendapatkan poin gratis dan membuat pukulan lanjutan menjadi lebih efektif.

"’You need to be able to get more miles per hour on that first serve, better direction on that first serve. Then not only do you start winning some free points from your first serve, but also your Plus One becomes much more effective. If people can neutralise your serve, you have to work much harder for your points.’," kata Darren Cahill.

Setelah memberikan arahan tersebut, Cahill menyebut Sinner langsung mengajukan banyak pertanyaan karena memiliki jiwa kompetitif yang sangat tinggi.

"Then his questions came, one after the other… It’s typical of him. He wants to compete. He’s a competition animal.

We’re seeing an incredible level of tennis at the moment, with Carlos [Alcaraz] and Jannik. If you look at their body of work over the past couple of years, they’ve separated themselves from the field. Now it’s up to the field to chase," ucap Darren Cahill.

Sementara itu, rekan sesama pelatih Sinner, Simone Vagnozzi, menjelaskan bahwa fokus utama tim mereka adalah bekerja dan bersiap sebaik mungkin demi meraih gelar juara.

"As we always say in our team, the important thing is trying to work and prepare as well as possible to have the chance to compete and win titles as much as possible. The important thing for us is to have the peace of mind that we have done things as well as possible." ujar Simone Vagnozzi, pelatih tenis Jannik Sinner.

Vagnozzi memuji hubungannya dengan Cahill yang langsung terkoneksi dengan baik sejak awal pertemuan mereka secara profesional maupun personal.

"I have to say that I’m so lucky to have met someone like Darren, both professionally and personally. We connected immediately, and that undoubtedly helped us in our journey. It’s never easy to find that chemistry, but we’ve always prioritized Jannik’s interests." kata Simone Vagnozzi.

Ia menerangkan pembagian peran di dalam tim pelatih, di mana dirinya bertanggung jawab pada aspek teknis serta taktis, sementara Cahill menangani aspek mental dan emosional Sinner.

"In practice, we have different roles; I’m responsible for the more technical and tactical side of things, and he is more in charge of the mental and emotional aspects. Of course, we share everything, and the most important thing is that the player always hears one united voice." ucap Simone Vagnozzi.
